Why deafologue?
deafologue was developed to fill a need. Often new bloggers find it difficult and overwhelming to start a blog. deafologue is designed to be simple to use as possible. Creating a post is done on the blog itself.
The coolest feature on deafologue? Instant Vlogs!
Riffly technology, well-known for making video comments, was re-purposed to allow vloggers to create videos without needing software for editing, compressing or uploading. The easiest way ever to make vlogs, all you need is 1) computer 2) internet and 3) a webcam!
Does it cost anything to sign up or to use deafologue?
deafologue is free, free, free!
deafologue is supported by sponsors and advertisers. There will be advertisements on the main page, but there will be not advertisements on individual blogs and entries.
How do I edit a post?
1) In the write box, click on “Edit”. On the following page, click “Edit” on the post’s row you would like to edit.
or
2) On your entry, click “Edit” to go directly to the editing page.
I made a mistake on my vlog or YouTube video. How do I edit?
deafologue is designed to be as simple to use as possible. Vlogs and YouTube videos, after they’re published, cannot be edited. As a workaround, delete the post and make a new one. Be sure to copy any text that you may have written.
To delete a post, click “Delete this post” on the bottom of the editing page. Or on the manage page, click “Delete” on the post’s row.
How do I upload photos?
Congratulations, you are no longer a beginner blogger. You may want to consider moving to another blog service to expand your blog.
deafologue isn’t designed for photo uploading, however, it is possible to.
1) Create a post with text and/or video and save it
2) Edit the post you just created
3) Upload photos on the editing page - the upload panel is below the “Save” button

How do I find an author’s RSS feed?
deafologue RSS feeds looks like this:
Replace [username] with your username.
How do I record an Instant Vlog?
1. Click “Make an Instant Vlog” inside the write box
2. Click “Rec” on bottom of video next to red dot to begin recording
3. Record Vlog
4. Click “Stop” on bottom of video next to orange dot to end recording
5. To review your vlog, click “Playback”
6. To replace the vlog with a new one, click “Re-Record”
7. When you are finished, click “Save”
8. The video box will close. Click “Post it” to publish your post.
The Instant Vlog feature isn’t working with my webcam. What do I do?
1. Plug webcam into computer
2. Right-click on video
3. Choose “Settings”
4. On bottom tabbed menu, click webcam icon
5. Try all available camera selections
6. When video is live, click “close”
7. Click “Rec” on bottom of video next to red dot to begin recording
What’s behind the name ‘deafologue’?
It is a play on three words which shares the same root, “-ologue”. This is from the Greek language and it means “speech, discourse; to speak”. The three words are:
Prologue
opening speech or dialogue of a play or the introduction to any literary work
deafologue is designed as an introductory platform to blogging.
Monologue
a part of a play in which one character speaks alone
vlogging can be seen as a single person signing (speaking).
and, finally, Dialogue
a literary composition in the form of a conversation between two people
people converse either by post or comment on deafologue.
